This is often to ensure the health advice or information they are giving a family in the unit is correct based on up-to-date guidance. Staff are always informative when I visit the unit. They always make time to keep me informed and up to date on things happening with the families I am supporting and provide me with the information I need to best support them. From a health professionals’ perspective, it can be difficult to coordinate the care families receive when they have moved in from another area. This can be especially difficult if there is a complex history and additional health needs. However, I feel staff in the unit know the families very well, they know their strengths and challenges and they support them in a holistic and child centered way. Alice, the manager is on constant contact with myself, which allows me to keep updated on daily issues, that have ensured that they are dealt with swiftly, which assists social workers, especially when in the court arena. 
The unit itself is well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed, providing a welcoming space that promotes a sense of comfort and security. The facilities are excellent, with everything needed to meet the needs of mothers and their babies.
Moreover, the activities and guidance offered to mothers are highly beneficial, empowering them to build positive routines and strengthen the bond with their babies. The focus on safeguarding is particularly reassuring, with clear policies and procedures in place to protect everyone’s welfare.
Overall, the mother and baby unit provides an outstanding service, and I am deeply grateful for the positive impact it has had on both mothers and their children.
